Patty Lou Cianfrocca, of Murphy, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, friend, and colleague whose warmth, generosity, and passion for life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Patty was born in Fairmont, West Virginia, to the late Victor and Margaret Elder Cianfrocca. Growing up in Fairmont, she developed the kind, welcoming spirit that would define her throughout her life. She cherished her hometown and the many memories she made there with family and friends during her early years.
She attended Fairmont State College, helping prepare her for a career that would take her to new places and introduce her to many wonderful people. Patty moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she began working with the PGA Tour. Her career with the organization became one of the great passions of her life. Over the years she served in many roles, each one reflecting her strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with others. Patty truly loved being part of the PGA Tour family and took great pride in the work she did. She treasured the countless friendships she formed along the way, and her colleagues knew her as someone who brought energy, positivity, and dedication to everything she did.
Beyond her professional life, Patty was known for her generous heart and friendly nature. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and valued, whether they were longtime friends or someone she had just met. Her kindness and genuine interest in others created bonds that lasted throughout her life.
Patty was also especially fond of animals, particularly the many dogs she lovingly cared for over the years. Her pets were constant companions and brought her great joy. She spoke often of them with affection, and anyone who visited her home could see how deeply she cared for them. Her love for dogs reflected the same compassion and loyalty that she showed to the people in her life.
In retirement, Patty made her home in the mountains of Murphy, North Carolina, where she enjoyed the beauty and quiet of the surrounding area. She is survived by her four siblings: Vickie Taylor of Estes Park, Colorado; Paul Cianfrocca and his wife, Jackie, of Sun City, Florida; Carla Hawkins of St. Augustine, Florida; and Todd Cianfrocca and his wife, Patricia, of Tampa, Florida. In addition, she has many nieces and nephews that she cherished and loved dearly.
