Debra Jane Holt

8/12/1956 - 4/19/2026

Debra Jane Holt, age 69, of Murphy, NC, passed away on April 19, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was a beloved wife, mother, nana, and friend whose creativity and generous heart touched everyone she knew.

She was preceded in death by her mother Marilyn Lefor.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years Robert M. Holt, her three children, their spouses, her eight grandchildren, her father Alfred Lefor, brother Danny and Karen Lefor, many cousins and countless dear friends.

A talented crafter and artist, Debra expressed her love through her hands. She poured her heart into everything she made. Her creations were more than objects—they were tangible expressions of her deep affection for family and friends. She delighted in making something special for everyone she knew. Her artistic spirit brought joy, warmth, and beauty into countless homes.

She was an amazing mother to her three children: Robert Holt (Danielle Scevers), Shannon Lamoureux (Troy Lamoureux), and Jennifer Holt. She dedicated herself completely to raising them with love, patience, and unwavering support. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her kids, she cheered every achievement, helped with every project and was their biggest advocate and softest place to land.

Debra was an even better Nana to her cherished grandchildren: Cordelia, Jadon, Trenton & Jadyn, Reef, Isabelle, Keira, and Piper. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She showered them with the same boundless love and creativity, making special crafts just for them, planning fun adventures, and being present for every milestone. Her home was always open, her arms always ready for hugs, and her heart endlessly patient and generous. She taught them the joy of creating, the importance of kindness, and the beauty of family.

Those who knew her will remember her strength, her gentle spirit, and the way she faced her battle with cancer with grace and courage. Even in her illness, her thoughts were often with her family, and her love continued to shine through.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you take a moment to create something beautiful for someone you love—just as she would have done.

There will be no public funeral services.

Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
