Betty Jean Dockery

Betty Jean Parker Dockery, age 94 of Murphy, NC passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Betty was born in Cherokee County to the late Grayson St. Clair and Mary Cordelia Blaylock Parker. She retired from Clifton as a machine operator. Betty was an artist and loved to paint on saw blades. She also loved to fish and camp. Betty was a member of Tomotla Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Ford Dockery; brothers, Desmond Parker and Larry Anderson; sister, Mary Ruth Griggs; stepson, Darrell Dockery; niece, Melisa Parker; and nephew, Dustin Anderson.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Leisa Hooper; sister, Wilma Louise Stiles; nephew, Lynn Griggs; and three nieces, Joan Moss, Renee Caldwell and Afton Conner.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Rev. Randle Moss and Rev. Chris Matheson officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Devin Dockery, Lucas Burrell, James Hooper and Isaiah Matheson.

Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
