Doris McIver Reynolds

Doris McIver Reynolds of Dallas, Georgia passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 after a lengthy illness.
Doris was born May 6, 1932 in Murphy, North Carolina to the late Winslow McIver and Florence Sneed McIver. After the death of her mother when she was three, she lived with an aunt in Miami where she started school a year early with her cousin. They gave her an extra birthday party so she would not tell the teachers. She returned to Murphy to complete first grade and finished her education there. After leaving Murphy, she worked for Southern Bell in Greensboro where she met and married Robert Holland Reynolds, Jr. She became a full-time homemaker dedicated to raising her family as they lived all around North Carolina before settling in Salisbury. After the untimely death of her husband, she lived many years in Chattanooga, Tennessee devoting her time to multiple bridge clubs. Doris attended Burks United Methodist Church and was active in the Eldredge Sunday school class. She then moved to Dallas, Georgia to be near her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband of 24 years, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard McIver; sister, Barbara McIver Johnson; and a half - brother, Roderick McIver Hartness.
Surviving Doris is her son, Robert Holland Reynolds, III (Sandra) of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Barbara Elizabeth Stogsdill of Dallas, Georgia; grandsons, Jackson Stogsdill of Chicago, Illinois and Sam Stogsdill of Dallas, Georgia. Doris will also be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 7, 2026 at the Sunset Cemetery with Rev. Wil Posey officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Sunday, June 7, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home, prior to the services.
