Brett Austin Phillips

Brett Austin Phillips, age 52 of Andrews, NC went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Brett was born in Bryson City, NC to James "Bill" and Faye Phillips of Andrews, NC. He was a member of Beaver Creek Free Will Baptist Church. Brett graduated from Andrews High School in 1992 and was a good athlete. He was a skilled carpenter. Brett loved being outdoors, especially rock hounding. He enjoyed helping others in need. Brett was generous, kind, well liked and loved. He was a good friend and a great uncle to his six nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Harold Phillips (Rebecca) of Michigan; one sister, Amy Phillips of Raleigh, NC; six nieces and nephews, Sonja (James) Crist, Zackary, Lance, Trinity (Tyler), Moses (Rachel) and Jude; nine great nieces and nephews, Elijah, Novena, Reid, Mercy, Seneca, Gabriel, Solannes, Charlotte and Madelyn; and his faithful furbaby, Buddy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. Pastors Roy Phillips, Rolin Phillips and Marlon Blaylock will officiate. The King Family will provide music. Pallbearers will be Rusty Williams, Allen Wheeler, Richard Lunsford, Lance Phillips, Hayden Smiley and Cecil Hardin.

The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 2 pm, Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials may be made to the Valley River Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Jean Phillips, PO Box 1189, Andrews, NC 28901.
