Grace Ellis Horton Newton

Grace Ellis Horton Newton, 92, of Andrews passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Sarah Green Horton.

Grace had worked as a certified nursing assistant with Personal Touch Assisted Living. She retired from Levi and Lee’s before coming a CNA. Grace had enjoyed working continuously. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Andrews. Grace had moved to this area in the 1970’s.

In addition to the parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Velestes “V” Oren Newton; a son, Russell Eugene Newton; a daughter, Deborah Kaye Newton; a daughter-in-law, Angela Newton; brothers, CP (Jr) Horton, Charles Horton, Howard Horton, Carl Horton, and Robert Horton; a sister, Margaret Upton; ; a grandson, Eddie Holloway; and a great grandson, Logan Braatz.

Surviving are sons, Carl Dean Newton, Gary Howard Newton, and Alan Jeffery Newton; a daughter, Eunice Faye Birchfield; a sister, Martha Buchanan and husband, Bob Buchcnan; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. Rev. Phillip Hodge will officiate. Burial will be in Valleytown Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Buddy Elrod, Colton Newton, Travis Newton, Tim Newton, Cash Newton, and Dallas Newton.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home, Andrews.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made in memory of Grace Newton to the America’s Breast Cancer Center.
