Helen Faye Morrow Baker

Helen Faye Morrow Baker, age 80 of Murphy, NC passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late Sherman and Beatrice Murphy Morrow. Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. Helen loved going to flea markets and yard sales. She was of the Christian faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Beaver.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edward Baker; three sons, Bryan Baker (Sheri), Greg Baker and Stacy Baker (Ginger); one sister, Shirley Morgan; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, July 17, 2026 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Paul Ray Morgan will officiate. Paul Ray and Linda Morgan and Sunny Anderson will provide music. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy. Pallbearers will be Corey, Russell and Keith Baker, Randall and Tyler McDonald and Curtis Taylor.

In the event of inclement weather for the graveside service on Friday, July 17, 2026, the graveside service will be rescheduled at 12 pm, Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm, Friday, July 17, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
