Thomas Fredrick Roberson

Thomas "Tubby" Fredrick Roberson, age 83 of Murphy, NC passed away Friday, September 26, 2026.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Edward and Ruth Burrell Roberson. Tubby retired as a janitor at Murphy High School with 25 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman. Tubby loved deer and turkey hunting. He liked teasing and giving his nephews a hard time. Tubby's nephews and niece-Jeff, Jamie, Mark, and Montana-helped look after and care for Tubby. He was a member of Wilscott Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Chapman Roberson.

He is survived by his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
