Ralph Patton, age 86 of Hayesville, NC passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.
He was a lifelong resident of Clay County. He was the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Hattie Maebell Lance Patton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death infant son, Benjamin Patton, three brothers, Jack Patton, J.D. Patton and Frank Patton and two sisters, Fannie Mae Burrell and Inez McTaggart.
Ralph was of the Methodist faith and deeply religious. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, loved his family and taking care of people. He also enjoyed telling tales and singing folk songs to the grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Patton; one son, David Patton and wife Terry; daughters, Judy Gentle and husband Scott and Patricia Wells; grandchildren, McKensie, Ryan, Levi and Spencer Gentle; great grandchildren, Calab, Amelia, Christina and Andrew Gentle and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Hayesville. Rev. Kyle Cody and Rev. Wayne Matheson will officiate. Music will be provided by Betty Patton and The Cody Family. Burial will follow at Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Gentle, Levi Gentle, McKensie Gentle, Spencer Gentle, Jerry Patton and Dale Scroggs.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, June 3, 2016 at the funeral home.
