Ottie Faye Nelson Ashe, age 91, of Hayesville, NC passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Hayesville, NC. Ottie Faye was the daughter of the late James Monroe and Dora Louida Dailey Nelson. She was a homemaker. Ottie Faye had been a member of the Hayesville Church of God since 1943. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ashe; daughter, LaVerne Bullabough; two brothers, Henry Nelson and Thurman Nelson; four sisters, Gertrude Mull, Irene Nations, Euna Mae Ledford and Martha Nelson.
She is survived by one son, Richard Noel Ashe and wife JoAnne of Brevard, NC; one brother, Oscar Nelson of Rossville, GA; one sister, Alice Passmore of Oak Ridge, TN; three grandchildren, Adam Bullabough, Ernie Ashe and Elizabeth Zhou; one great grandson, Zachary Zhou and one great-granddaughter, Zoey Zhou; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Hayesville Church of God. Rev. Mitchell Totherow and Rev. Danny Burch will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
