Obituary for Beverly "Bev" Ann Adams

06/25/1955 - 04/08/2019

Beverly (Bev) Ann Adams, 63 of Murphy, NC passed away peacefully Monday, April 8, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous fight with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer.

She was native to the state of Maine, raised in Orland, and graduated from Bucksport High School in 1973. After working as a CNA in Bar Harbor, ME for a year, Bev married her teenage sweetheart in August 1974 and moved to Florida while her husband completed college. After graduation the family moved to Virginia for five years, then back to Maine in 1982. Bev was a full time stay-at-home mom. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, loved animals of all shapes and sizes, enjoyed bird watching, traveling, visiting with friends, and going fast. She loved to cook and her favorite holiday was Christmas.

Bev moved to Murphy with her husband in 2012, as the Smokey Mountain Region is where they decided to retire and spend their lives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Flannery and father-in-law, Melvin Adams.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Adams of Murphy, daughters and their spouses, Amy and Jason Fabus of Woolwich, ME, Christy Adams and Shawn Elliott of Round Pond, ME, and Melissa and Jon Alley of Piney Flats, TN along with her four grandchildren, that were the apple of her eye; Angelina, Kalista, William and Taylor; mother, Donna Flannery of Ellsworth, ME and mother-in-law Doris Adams of Bucksport, ME; sister-in-law, Debra Gordon of Bangor, ME, brother-in-laws, Gary and David Adams and spouses of Bucksport, ME; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces whom she adored.

There will be a Celebration of Life gathering in Maine this summer, time and location to be determined.

In lieu of flowers Bev wanted donations made to an Animal Rescue of your choice, or CaringBridge.org, an online journal for those battling life threatening illnesses.
