Wanda Jean Taylor Byers, age 79, of Warne, NC passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in Hall County, GA.
She was born in Bell County, TX to the late Millard and Geraldine Garner Taylor. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Hayesville. Wanda loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her work at the Country Cottage where she made many acquaintances and friends during her time at the restaurant.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Millard Dean Taylor; four sisters, Geneva Taylor, Joanne Nalley, Margie Sharp and Aletta White.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Fred Byers; three sons, Danny Byers of Wellington, FL, Benny Byers of Belton, TX and Mike Byers of Warne, NC; one daughter, Sheryl Miller and husband Steve of Warne, NC; one brother, Jimmy Taylor of Corsicana, TX; one sister, Janet Leigh Fitzgerald of Belton, TX; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12 pm, Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the First Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Rumfelt, Rev. Johnny Foster and Rev. Billy Stiles will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 11am - 12 pm, Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the First Free Will Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church, 259 Tusquittee Street, Hayesville, NC 28904.
