Dexter Payne, age 47 of Murphy passed away Wednesday July 17, 2019 at Mission Hospital.
Dexter was the son of Junior and Joy Payne of Murphy. He was a logger and a member of Mt. Caramel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, DJ Payne.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Pamela Payne; son, Justice McKay; daughter, Aerian Payne; brother, Doyle Payne and wife Tara; nephew, Evan Payne and great nephews, Danner Payne and Jarrett Sneed.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday July 20, 2019 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Jonathan Smith and Rev. Charles Cheatham will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kevin Murphy, Ray Hamby, Josh Barnett, Doug Prince, Evan Payne, Eric Davis and Michell Prince. Honorary pallbearers will be Thurman Hamby, James Leonard, Timmy Boring, Stub Reid, Tyler Taylor and Shannon Roescher. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
