Ray Clifford Dockery, age 94 of Murphy, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
Ray was a native of Cherokee County and born to the late Wiley and Mattie Hembree Dockery. He loved farming cattle and had worked for different convenience stores in the area. Ray was a U.S. Army and U.S. Airforce Veteran of WWII. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard, Henry and Allen Dockery; sisters, Nettie Dockery Rupp, Ora Dockery Yencey, Helen Dockery Coffey and Bessie Dockery Parkhurst.
Ray is survived by his son, Robert Dockery; daughters, Alice Graham, Betty Stiles, Faye Hartness, Helen Dockery Coffey, Peggy Duncan and Monica Allen; sister, Gladys Dockery Davis; 21 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held.
