Carolyn Totherow Sams, 70, of Murphy passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was born in Cherokee County to the late Elbert and Carmel Rich Totherow. Carolyn had worked for the Cherokee County Social Services.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, David "Leon" Sams; a daughter, Crystal Sams; and a brother, Elbert "Tiny" Totherow, Jr.
Surviving are a son, Chad Sams and wife Krista; and grandchildren, Noah Sams, and Kaelin Sams.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Warren Golden officiating. Pallbearers will be Ray Cote, Rusty Payne, Nic Smith, Robert Mashburn, Tony Sassman, and Scott Helton. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm Wednesday at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home prior to the services.
