Lois Sue Parrott
, age 91 passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in the Clay County Care Center, Hayesville, NC.
She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Bessie Henson Swanson.
Lois has called Clay County Care Center "home" since 2015. She was born in Hayesville on July 26, 1930, and graduated from Hayesville High School. She married her husband Harold in 1956. He was in the Army and they lived in both France and Germany. In 1962 Harold went to work out west with the nuclear program and Lois returned to Hayesville with her four children, - Tom, Henry, Dean and Brenda.
Lois did what she had to do to support her family; at one time she worked in a sewing factory. She was also a nurse. Her son, Tom, said she was "the best Mom a child could wish for". She was so very proud of her children
.
She is survived by three sons, Henry Parrott of Hayesville, Harold Parrott of Hayesville, Tommy Franks and significant other, Mayra Herrera of Pompano Beach, FL; one daughter Brenda Parrott and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 6 pm, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Burial will be at 2 pm, Sunday, January 9, 2022 in the Old Union Cemetery in Young Harris, GA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Memory of Lois Parrott to the Clay County Care Center Activities Department, 86 Valley Hideaway Drive, Hayesville, NC 28904.
