Betty Louise Culp Thompson, age 80, passed into Glory to the loving hands of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 27, 2022. She was a member of Immanuel's Church in Hemby Bridge, NC.
Betty (fondly known as “Tootsie," or "Mamaw Betty" by family and friends) was born on October 19, 1941, in Wompee, SC, to the late Crone and Eloise Walton Culp. She is predeceased by her sister Dorothy Brannan.
Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years, Harold Lee Thompson of Murphy NC; daughter, Kimberly Thompson Riley and husband Lonnie of Murphy NC; sister Sandy Treece of Mt. Gilead, NC; Grandson Randall Riley of Blue Springs, MO, Step Grandsons Jason Riley and wife Kymberly of Leicester, NC, and Joshua Riley and wife Allison of Greenville SC; Great- Granddaughter Kiara Riley, Step Great-Grandson Callan Riley and Step Great-Granddaughter Claire Riley.
A memorial for the celebration of her life will be held at Simonds Chapel Baptist Church, Murphy, NC, on Saturday, May 14th, at 1:00 with the Rev. Don Hall presiding.
The family will receive friends at 12:00 and there will be a time of fellowship after the service in the fellowship hall.
