Walter Owen Russell, age 93 of Forest Park, GA, formerly of Clay County, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
Walter was born in Clay County to the late Larkin and Viola Garrett Russell. He had worked as a bearing inspector for Delta. Walter was a United States Army veteran.
In addition to his wife, Etheleen Russell, he was preceded in death by a brother, Angus Dawson Russell; his sisters, Burma Russell Chastain and Clyta Russell Matheson; and grandchild, Mack Griggs.
Walter is survived by his son, Robert Kevin Russell: daughter, Sherry Lynn Griggs (David); grandchildren, Michael Griggs and wife Byrn and Zack Griggs; and great grandchildren, Aerin Griggs and Ian Griggs.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Bethabara Cemetery in Hayesville. Rev. Carroll Holbrooks will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael Griggs, Zack Griggs, Ian Griggs, Tim Bearden and Steven Bearden.
The family will receive friends from 12:30pm - 1:30pm on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville prior to the graveside service.
