James Dillard Hooper, Sr, 81, of Andrews passed away Monday, August 22, 2022.
He was the son of the late John Benjamin and Laura Thompson Hooper. James had worked at Stanley Furniture. He was an amazing father and grandfather, loved time with his family, loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed puzzle books and coloring. He also enjoyed racing as it was his lifelong favorite thing. James was a member of the Red Marble Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Hooper; and two sisters, Opal Postell and Laquita Waldroup.
Surviving are three sons, James Hooper, Jr and wife, Lesia, Jamie Edward Hooper, and Brandon Lee Hooper and wife, Crystal; two daughters, Tina Searcy and husband, Allen, and Tammy Rivenbark and husband, David; two brothers, Richard Hooper and Johnny Hooper; a sister, Mary Ruth Eastwood; and 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Red Marble Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Stewart, Rev. Daniel Stewart, and Rev. Dwight Reed officiating. Interment will be in Carver Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James, Kaseson, Brandon, and Dalton Hooper, Allen Searcy, Gage Horchler, Elijah Morgan, and Drew Rivenbark. Honorary pallbearer will be Jamie Hooper.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Red Marble Baptist Church prior to the service.
