Wanda Mary Watkins, 80, of Hayesville passed away Friday, May 06, 2022. She was born in Hayesville to the late Gerald and Fannie Patton Burrell. Wanda had worked in a Dress Plant as a seamstress. She loved to sew, going to church and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Watkins; a son, Duaine Watkins; brothers, Dick Burrell and Edgar Burrell; and a sister, Doris Collins.
Surviving are her son, James Watkins and his wife, Judy; daughters, Donna Patterson and her husband, Jeff, and Susan Worley; brothers, Ronnie, Bobby, Kenny, Johnny, and Tommy Burrell; sisters, Shirley Chastain, Geraldine Lockaby, Frances Wilson, and Clara Moss; and several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 09, 2022 at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robbie Moss, and Rev. Aaron Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Brandon Chappell, Donovan Byers, Matthew McRay, James Norton, Jeff Patterson, and Doogie Pendergrass. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Norton, and Jamie Worley.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Hayesville prior to the service at the graveside.
