David Howard Hewett, Sr, age 64 of Cherokee County, NC passed away February 14, 2026 in the Dominican Republic.
He was the son of the late William E. and Mabel Bristow Hewett. David was the owner of the Arco refrigeration business. He was a great mentor and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others in his field and those who worked with him. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and trout fishing. He taught his son to appreciate the outdoors from a very young age. Although he enjoyed Cherokee County and these mountains, David learned to love the beaches as well. Most of all, David loved his three granddaughters deeply and was looking forward to his move back to the mountains and spending more time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one brother, Terry Hewett and one sister.
He is survived by his wife Alicia Hewett; one son, David Hewett, Jr. and his wife, Jessica Hewett; one sister, Marie Hewett and three granddaughters, Adalynn Hewett, Avary Hewett, and Emery Hewett.
A private funeral service will be held for close family and friends at 12pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
