Robert “Dale” Price of Marble, NC, passed away peacefully in Murphy, NC at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital.
Born in Murphy on December 30, 1935, Dale was the son of the late Edgar and Lenna Price. He graduated from Murphy High School in 1954 and married the love of his life, Betty, in 1956. The two shared 68 wonderful years together, building a life rooted in love, faith, and family.
Dale was a kind, loving, and sweet Christian man who devoted his life to serving others. He spent 35 years in Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked as a maintenance electrician for Trammell Crow Company before retiring. He was a long-time member of University Baptist Church, serving faithfully as a deacon and church treasurer. Always willing to lend a hand, Dale made it a personal mission to pick up the elderly and children to bring them to church, ensuring everyone had the opportunity to worship.
After retiring and returning home to Marble, he continued his service at Tomotla Baptist Church, once again stepping into the role of deacon and continuing to bless others with his generosity, humility, and steadfast faith.
Above all, Dale loved his family deeply. He is survived by his beloved wife Betty; daughters Robin McMullen (Jeff) and Renae Long (Rick); grandchildren Josh Long (Carmen) and Kaylie Scoles (Dalton); and great-grandchildren Cohen, Nash, Shiloh, and Myla. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is also survived by his sisters Aleen Keener, Gail Lambert (Dean), Linda Kimble (Donnie), and brother Rick Price (Carolyn), along with many nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Marie Price, brothers Randal, Hoyt, and Edgar Jr., and sisters Azalee English, Althea Moore, Edith Little, and Angie Kiser.
