Kathryn “Nanny” Taylor Rogers, 71, of Hayesville passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Bascomb “Bass” Taylor, Sr., and Hattie Martin Taylor.
She had worked in the cafeteria in Clay County School System. Kathryn loved swimming, laying in the sun, spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, and great grandkids. She enjoyed working, doing laundry, going on trips and was always on the go. Students, friends and family called her “Nanny”.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bristol Gayle Rogers; brothers, Alvin Taylor, Howard Taylor, and Leon Taylor; and sisters, Margie Taylor, Janet Lance, Sandra Dockery, and Madlyn Wallace.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Charles Rogers; daughters, Jill Taylor Rogers and Leslie Brooke Chastain (Jason); brother, Bascomb Taylor, Jr.; sisters, Claudia Trotter, Lynnetta Iles (Jimmy), Josephine “Jodi” Alverson, and Rebecca “Becky” Graves; grandchildren, Dylan Blake Rogers (Heather), Scarlett Angelica Chastain, and Jocelyne Victoria Chastain; and great grandchildren, Kynlee Grace Rogers, and Hadlee Faith Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, August 20, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville with Rev. Eric Seagers officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dylan Rogers, Jason Chastain, Tommy Lands, Danny Jones, Leon Chastain, and Danny Gilbert.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Thursday, August 20, 2026 prior to the services.
