Jaqueline Lee Root McClure, age 74 of Topton, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Jaqueline was born in Rochester, New York to the late Leon Paul and Laura Mary Wawro Root. She had worked as an LPN in the health care industry. She lived in the Topton area since 2009 coming from Orlando, FL. Jaqueline enjoyed crafts, sewing, needlework and music. She loved taking care of the elderly and was an avid animal lover. Jaqueline especially loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Briartown Baptist Church in Nantahala.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lorah; her daughter in law, Candy Vernon; a sister, Christine Branch; and great granddaughter, Hazeleigh Jacqueline.
She is survived by her son, James Vernon III of Altamonte Springs, FL; her daughter, Jennifer Thatcher (Steven) of Mauston, Wisconsin; her sister, Marcia Nicarry (Steven) of Greenville, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Britany Fleming (Michael) of Oviedo, FL, Eileen Corbin of Boston, MA, Laura Teeling of Ocklawaha, FL, James Richard Vernon IV and Grayce Vernon of Altamonte Springs, FL; her great grandchildren, Corbin and Theo Fleming, Harvey Jack, Hunter James, Henry John and Harley Jayce; and her nephews, Derek Nicarry of Litchfield, Maine and Daniel Young of Asheville, NC.
There are no services planned at this time.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
