Obituary for Jane N Bolton

Mrs. Jane N. Bolton, age 97, of Murphy, North Carolina passed away peacefully in her home with her daughters by her side on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Jane will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Jane lived in West Palm Beach, Florida where she cared for her husband, Robert Bolton, for 50 years and raised five children. She moved to Murphy, North Carolina 30 years ago and loved her home on a scenic, wooded mountain top.

Jane was a registered nurse and nurse manager of the obstetrics unit where she helped bring many babies into the world. Jane had many talents and hobbies. She was on a bowling team where she proudly bowled a “300” game. She was a creative, artistic painter, and she loved to sew, crochet and knit. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and selling her treasures at art and craft festivals.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bolton, of 50 years; Bobby Bolton, son; Kenneth Bolton, son; Cheryl Barnes, daughter; Kelly Brady, grandson; David Denson, son-in-law; and her brothers, Frederick Norton, Roger Norton, Kenny Norton and sister Eleanor Roberts.

She is survived by her daughters, Marion Brady, and Patty Denson; her grandson, Dean Brady and wife, Sue; granddaughter, Faith Denson; grandson, Paul Denson and wife, Susie; granddaughter, Ginger Peacock; grandson, Adam, Bohannon and 10 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter and several nieces and nephew.

Funeral service is to be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 2pm at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Pastor Tim Lee officiating. Burial will be in Ranger United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ranger United Methodist Church.
