Obituary for Will Junior Derreberry

Will Junior Derreberry, age 83 of Marble, NC passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Frank and Jessie Garrett Derreberry. Will worked as a plumber. He loved hunting and fishing. Will was a member of Maltby Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son in law, Scott Dockery; two sisters, Annie Queen and Wanda Millsaps and one brother-in-law, Larry Sowell.

He is survived by one daughter, Candy Lefay Derreberry Dockery; four brothers, Larry, Dean, Billy Ray and David Dale Derreberry; three sisters, Betty Maney (Kenneth), Janice Sowell, and Alma Fay Maney (Miles); two grandchildren, Steven Brendle and Dakota Dockery; and friend, Beverly Garrett.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Maltby Baptist Church in Marble. Rev. Kenny White will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Stiles, Dakota Dockery, Robert Garrett, Hayden Sharp, Andy Corden and Jimmy Derreberry.
