Joseph Barnard Jones, age 85 of Murphy, NC passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
He was born in Pasadena, Texas to Charles William and Mary Barnard Jones. Joseph graduated from Andrews High School. After high school, Joe then went on to Blanton Business College in Asheville. While in Asheville, he worked for Acres Motor Line. Joe moved to Andrews, NC to work for Blue Ridge Trucking Company until they closed and then went to work for Baker Furniture. Later he went into the real estate industry until he retired.
Joe enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. His favorite hobby was feeding his wild animals such as deer, fox and bear.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Reisig Jones; two sons, Charlie Jones (Karen) of Ackworth, GA and Joey Jones (Marsha) of Woodstock, GA; one brother, Charles "Bucky" Yancey Jones (Peggy Sue) of Gainesville, GA; two granddaughters, Maegan and Kaitlyn; and three great grandchildren, Sophia, Olivia and Amelia.
A visitation service will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm, Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
