Harry Page Rogers, age 97 of Hayesville, passed away peacefully at his home during the night on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
Harry was born in Clay County to the late Neal N. and Nettie E. Ledford Rogers. He worked in agricultural farming. Harry lived on Arch Ridge, where he passed, that was named after his great great granddad’s homestead in the 1800's. He was baptized on April 25, 1976 at First View Baptist of Norfolk, VA. Harry attended Truett Memorial First Baptist Church in Hayesville. He was a twenty-two year United States Navy veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam. Harry was a navigator on an LST which transported military supplies all over the world. He was proud to say that his navigation skills factored in to never running aground.
He is survived by his three sons Mark Rogers (Rose), Michael Rogers (Tonia) and David Rogers (Holly); his brother, Bobby Rogers; his sisters, Patricia Noell and Cheryl Bracken; several grandchildren, April, Julie, Noelle, Joseph and Matthew; several great grandchildren, Hunter, Clara, Violet, Piper and Page; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Rosalind Dills; his second wife, Marylyn Jones Rogers; his sisters, Jean Moss and Helen Hartley; his brothers, Nolan, William Ray and Jimmy Rogers.
An inurnment will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Marshalls Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hayesville, NC with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post #96, Murphy, American Legion Post 532 Hayesville, VFW Post 6812, Hayesville and the Marine Corp League, Marble.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in his honor to Marshall's Chapel Cemetery, C/O Janika Skelton, 403 Hinton Center Road, Hayesville, NC 28904.
