Obituary for Donna Mae Rose Workman

Donna Mae Rose Workman, age 93 of Hayesville, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Donna was born in Cherokee County to the late Frank Rose Sr. and Vicie Mae Chambers Rose. She retired from Hamilton County, TN as a school cafeteria manager and also as a clerk for Chatuge Shores Golf Course in Hayesville, NC. Donna enjoyed golfing and even achieved a hole-in-one; she was a fabulous cook. Donna enjoyed traveling, entertaining and dancing. She also enjoyed playing games like dominos, bingo and was a master of trivia. Donna loved singing, even at a young age, her dad would take her to sing at funerals and church. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Donna loved the Lord and was a member of Little Brasstown Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, J.W. Workman "Red"; her brother, Bobby Rose and sister-in law Penny, and a sister, Bonita Duckworth and brother-in-law Ed.

She is survived by her son, Jesse W. “Pete” Workman of Hayesville, NC; two daughters, Patti Weimer and husband Ed of Milledgeville, GA and Lisa Blow and husband Bennet of Wildwood, Florida; one brother, Frank Rose, Jr. and wife Opal of Hayesville, NC; her grandchildren, Brittany Blow, Kristin and Cole Beamer, Dee Weimer, Aaron and Holly Weimer and Andrew and Sophie Weimer; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville with Rev. Aud Brown and Dr. Chester Jones officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bennet Blow, Ed Weimer, Aaron Weimer, David Duckworth, Josh Maner and Marlon Maner. Honorary pallbearer will be Pete Workman.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Little Brasstown Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 12, Brasstown, NC 28902.
