Thad A Thompson Jr, age 87 of Sherman, TX, passed away on July 29, 2025.
Thad was born in Hayesville, NC, to the late Thad A Thompson, Sr., and Inez Georgia Beck. Thad graduated from Hayesville High School in 1956. He was a US Army veteran. He was united in marriage to Juanita Fitzsimmons on July 2, 1961, at McConnell Memorial Baptist Church in Hiawassee, GA. Thad was retired and spent most of his career as a property tax manager. Thad loved fishing, golf, camping, and playing cards. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Thad was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Thompson, his sister Curtleene Thompson, his brother Steve Thompson, and his parents.
Thad is survived by his daughters, Tina Thompson and her husband Bobby Bishop, and Vicky Stropes and her husband Dave Stropes, his granddaughters, Erika Huggins and her husband Jonathan Huggins, Caitlin Stropes and her husband Josh Loewen, and Rachel Sutton and her husband Austin Sutton.
Thad will be laid to rest at Meadow Grove Baptist Cemetery. A private graveside service will be held by the family.
