Billy Hubert Thompson, age 85 of Murphy, NC passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Jewel and Verna Lee Cook Thompson. He loved trout fishing and enjoyed sports, especially football.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Thompson; two sons, David Thompson and wife Nancy and Derrick Thompson and wife Katie; two daughters, Debi Mills and Dana Reda and husband Tony; one brother, David Thompson and wife Avis; nine grandchildren, Wesley Mills, Leah Mills, Anthony Reda, Nicolas Reda, Joseph Reda, Michayla Moody, Connor Thompson, Ashlyn Graves and Danielle Thompson; and two great grandchildren, Kinsley and Aiden Moody.
Graveside Services will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tim Huff will officiate. Pallbearers will be Wesley Mills, Anthony Reda, Nicolas Reda, Joseph Reda, Connor Thompson and Trevor Thompson.
