Odeen Smart, age 96, of Hayesville passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Holt and Mary McClure Kitchens.
Odeen was a homemaker. She enjoyed working outside in her garden and mowing. She also enjoyed canning and going for rides in the community. Odeen was a member of Ledfords Chapel Church in Hayesville.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Noel Cotton Smart; a brother, Donald Kitchens; and sisters, Suedean Ledford, and Muriel Stroud.
She is survived by one son, Kenny Smart (Gail) of Tennille, GA; daughters, Joy Swanson of Hayesville, and Mary "Tootsie" (David) Davenport of Tignall, GA; two granddaughters, Ann Morris (Kevin) and Chrissy Peyton (Joe); two grandsons,, Allen Davenport (Misty) and Randy Davenport; four great grandchildren, Quinton Morris, Morgan Boulineau, Macy Peyton and Ben Peyton; and one great great granddaughter, Sheridan Morris.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Monday, December 22, 2025 at Ledfords Chapel Church in Hayesville with Rev. Jackie Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Ledfords Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Davenport, Tony Elliott, John Moody, Steven Kirby, Kevin Morris, and Quinton Morris. Honorary pallbearer will be Quentin Ledford.
The family will receive friends from 12 pm - 1 pm, Monday, December 22, 2025 at Ledfords Chapel Church.
