James Allen Solesbee, Sr., age 86 of the Nantahala community, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023.
James was born in Macon County, NC to the late Sheridan and Catherine Rowland Solesbee. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and diving. James especially enjoyed woodworking in his shop and spending time with family. He was a member of White Oak Flats Church and was a veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Colen Solesbee and Jack Solesbee; and a granddaughter, Jo Ann Solesbee.
James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jo Ann Wilson Solesbee; his son, James Allen Solesbee, Jr. and wife Terri of Nantahala; his daughters, Sherry Patti and husband James, and Shannon West and husband Eric, both of Nantahala; his grandchildren, James Allen Solesbee, III and wife Anzhelika, Jayme Beavers and husband Joey, Mark Patti, Aidin Kellen and Evan Kellen; his great grandchildren, James Allen Solesbee, IV, Haley Solesbee, Jackson Patti, Lillian Beavers, Riley Phillips and one great grandchild on the way.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 pm, Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. Rev. Joel Creasman will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 3 pm to 4 pm, Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
