Taft Washington Laney, age 83 of Brasstown, NC passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
He was born in Bryson City, NC to the late Floyd and Gertie Hartness Laney. Taft worked as a block and brick mason. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and horses. Taft was a member of Little Brasstown Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jake, Jim, Leon, John, Georgie, Dorothy, Lois and Judy.
He is survived by one sister, Margaret Tweed of Andrews, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Little Brasstown Baptist Church at a later date.
