Obituary for David Van Williams

David Van Williams, 68, of Marble passed away Monday, November 17, 2025.

He was the son of the late Van Chester and Cleo Hicks Williams. David had worked with Team Industries as a machinist (Gear Technician). He has worked for Team Industries for over forty years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandson, Dimitri. He loved being outdoors, anything mechanical, and his job at Team Industries. David liked to share his knowledge, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He never met a stranger. His favorite flower was stripped Tiger Lilies that his mother grew. David was a member of Junaluska Baptist Church in Andrews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Steve Howell.

Surviving is his honey of 28 years, Teresa Pendergrass; children of his heart, Jessica Ray (Brandon, John Pack, and Cody Gibby; sister, Donna Howell; grandchildren, Dimitri Cross-Ray, Haven Ray, Rylei Gibby, and Waylon Thurman; and Team Industry Family, many cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 23, 2025 in the Townson-Rose Andrews Chapel with Pastor Philip Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Cook, Matthew Barton, Armando DeJesus, Jack Rhodes, Dimitri Cross-Ray, Perry Jordan, John Pack, and Cody Gibby. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Barton, Johnny Hogan, Team Industries Colleges, and Rylei Gibby.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to Saint Jude or Samaritans Purse.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the employees at Union General Hospital.
