Ruth Reece Beavers, age 87 of Murphy, NC passed away Monday, May 4, 2026.
She was born in Clay County, NC to the late Caswell and Pearlie Carter Reece. Ruth retired from Levi Strauss with 32 years of service. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially gardening. Ruth loved quilting with her husband Harley. She was always welcoming and loving everyone that came into her house. Ruth was kindhearted and the sweetest lady. She was not a mother but a mother to all her nieces and nephews. Ruth was a member Old Fashioned Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Beavers and one brother, Caswell Reece, Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Rudy Medlin (Bob) of Hickory, NC; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Music will be provided by Maria Wilson. Pastor Hoyt Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Bellview Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny, Zack and Chris Beavers, and Harold Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 2 pm, Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bellview Community Cemetery, 155 Glenn Stalcup Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
