Obituary for Buddy Lloyd Lunsford

Buddy Lloyd Lunsford, age 71, of Andrews, NC passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Angel Medical Center in Franklin, NC.

He was a native of Cherokee County, NC and a son of the late Lloyd Bayless and Ronnie Dephne Blaylock Lunsford. Buddy was a US. Army Veteran. He retired from Baker Furniture where he was a security guard. He was an avid photographer and loved nature. Buddy was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7620 in Andrews. He was on the Scottish Rites of Freemasonry Supreme Council, 33 Degree SJ USR International and a member of York Rites, Waynesville #31 of Knights Templar and Shriner’s International WNC Shrine Club of Murphy, Andrews, and Hayesville. He was also a member of Eastern Star OES, Andrews Chapter #15 and Eastern Star OES #320, Marble Springs. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lunsford, a sister, Josephine Lunsford and infant sister, Theresa Lunsford.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Harris Lunsford; two daughters, Misty Dawn Wood and Melody Frances Lunsford, three stepsons Charles William Taylor, Michael Edward Taylor and Jeff Ellis, seven sisters: Lucille Carter, Janice Barker, Shirley Grindstaff, Atha Joyce Owenby, Martha Ray Younce, Karen Sherrill and Debra English and eleven grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Valley River Baptist Church in Andrews, NC. Rev. Roy Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in the Valley River Baptist Church Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Andrews V.F.W. Post #7620 and Masonic graveside rites will be provided by Marble Springs Masonic Lodge #320. Pallbearers will be Austin Brady, Charles Taylor, Micheal Taylor, Curt English, Chad Sherrell, and Tim Wood. Honorary Pallbearer will be Chuck Van Gorder.

The family will receive friends from 6 8 PM, Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Townson Rose Chapel in Andrews, NC where the body will remain until being placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made In Memory of Buddy Lunsford to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
