Vernon Francis Davis, Jr, age 88 of Hayesville, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
Vernon was born in Marshall County, West Virginia to the late Vernon Francis Davis, Sr and Florence Williams Davis. He retired as an engine mechanic and Chief Petty Officer for the United States Navy. Vernon loved fishing and especially loved his family. He enjoyed baking, gardening and tending to plants and trees. Vernon loved going to church and was a member of Little Brasstown Baptist Church. He was president of the VFW in Virginia Beach and a member of the local VFW in Hayesville.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn Campbell Davis; his second wife, Edna Davis; his brothers, Bob Davis, Carl Davis and Lawerence Davis; his sister, Wanda Van Orman; and his grandson, Gary S. Bulman, Jr.
He is survived by his son, Michael Davis (Jessica); his daughters, Rebecca Rivera and Candy Bulman; his sister, Lyda Cox; his grandchildren, Courtney Foster, Lorne Renn, Ashley Bulman, Katie M. Middleton, Eric Davis and K.C. Stewart; and his great grandchildren, Kellen Foster, Emilie Renn, Finn Bulman, Wade Bulman, Carter Stewart, Kyler Stewart and Cooper Stewart.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Little Brasstown Baptist Church with Rev. Aud Brown officiating. Burial will be in Little Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville.
