Obituary for Julie Lambert Sundsted

On April 13th, 2025, Palm Sunday, Julie Lambert Sundsted of Brasstown, North Carolina, walked through the gates of Heaven and into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Julie was born on January 8, 1947, to the late Henry and Stella Lambert of Cumberland, Rhode Island. Julie was the third of five children for the Lambert family. She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1964 and went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in business education from Bryant College in Providence, Rhode Island in 1968.

Upon graduation, Julie was hired by American Airlines as a stewardess and she was based in Buffalo, New York. As a stewardess, Julie flew a variety of domestic routes throughout the United States for the next several years. She also taught at a small business college for a short period of time. Additionally, she was hired by a recruiting company and worked as a professional and technical recruiter for several years.

It was in Buffalo where Julie met her husband to be, Lee Sundsted. After they were married, Lee and Julie moved to the Atlanta, Georgia region to start their own professional and technical recruiting business. They were highly successful and continued working in the North Georgia region until 2001 when they moved the business to Brasstown, North Carolina. There they worked in the business for several years until retirement.

Julie and Lee attended First United Methodist Church in Blairsville, Georgia and enjoyed being a member of the Determined Sunday School class. Julie and Lee also enjoyed attending Coosa Methodist Church and Sunday School in Blairsville. Julie was a happy gardener and enjoyed growing a variety of vegetables over the years and at one point had an acre garden. Additionally, she maintained a very productive blueberry patch and enjoyed sharing blueberries with family and friends.

Julie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Sundsted, her parents, her sister Lorraine Cook, and younger brother David Lambert.

She is survived by her older brother Henry Lambert of Cumberland, Rhode Island and sister, Denise McCarter of Southside, Alabama; son’s Erik (Wendy) of Natick, Massachusetts, Michael (Lori) of Dallas, Texas; daughter Allison (Jeffrey) of Hiawassee, Georgia as well as grandchildren Tyler and Annika (Erik), Collin (Mike), Ayden, Gibson, Finnley (Allison), and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time and the family will reach out to friends and family when the date and time are set.
