Claudette Monique Simonin Wimpey, age 95 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Vincent de Paul Simonin and Marie Louise Hugotte. She was born in Saint- Honore'-les-Bains in Nieve, France. Claudette loved life and enjoyed traveling, especially back to her roots in France. She enjoyed painting and was an avid reader. She befriended and cared for many cats and dogs and loved them all, but the one that stole her heart was Leona. Claudette also enjoyed going out to eat and being outdoors. She was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Aaron Wimpey; her brother Gerard Jean Paul Simonin, an infant brother, and one sister, Yvette Christiane Simonin Neel.
She is survived by one sister, Michele Andree Paule Guyolot of France and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hayesville, NC. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate.
