Whitney Nichole Johnson Mayner, age 36, of Murphy, NC passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
She was born in Andrews, NC to the late Gregory Colbert and Callie Johnson of Murphy. Whitney worked as a medical assistant for Chatuge Family Practice. She attended the Hayesville Church of the Nazarene. Whitney loved spending vacations at the beach, swimming and listening to music. She loved spending quality time with her family, especially her sons, and her friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dustin Martin; sister, Christina Johnson; paternal grandmother, Betty Colbert McCombs; maternal grandparents, Elijah Johnson and Elsie Bruce; and special Aunt and Uncle, Jerry and Judy Colbert.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Chad Mayner; two sons, Ja'shon Mayner and Draeden Mayner; one brother, David Jordan; nephews, De'Andre Jackson, Eddie and Ricky Betancourt; mother in law, Christina Brown; brother in law, Chance Ramey; sisters in law, Autumn Ramey and MyCala Brown; special cousin, Jarai Jackson; special friends, Brittany Coker and Tamara Johnson; and the Colbert family.
Visitation will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm, Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy. A eulogy will be given by the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Townson-Rose Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
