Eugene Moore, age 82 of Andrews, passed away on May 16, 2023, surrounded by his children and their families.
Eugene was a skilled diesel mechanic and retired from Higdon Construction. After his retirement, he enjoyed flea marketing, spending time fishing, and hanging out with his best friend and grandson Cody.
Eugene, fondly known in the area as Tar-Baby, was born to the late Frank and Fannie Moore on July 5, 1940 and was the husband of Clara Jo Holloway Moore who passed away in 1996. In addition to his wife and parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his infant son Eugene Junior Moore, two brothers, Frank Moore, Jr and Ralph Moore, and two great grandchildren, Copeland Moore and Ellie James Falls.
Eugene is survived by his four children, Jackie Adamski (Charlie Barba) of Diamondhead, Mississippi; Darrell (Kim) Moore of Blue Ridge, Georgia; Bobby (Charlene) Moore of Andrews and Barry Moore of Andrews. Grandchildren, Travis (Piper) Jones, Amberley (Jake) Weir, Sadie (Eli) Falls, Cody (Talon) Moore, Kelsi Moore, Cameron Moore, Dillan (Taylor) Ward, and Cade Ward. Great Grandchildren, Cooper Weir, Presley and Blakeley Falls, Gunner Reid, and Myles Gillespie.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Townson-Rose Chapel, Andrews with Rev. Jim Postell and Speaker Lora Beeler officiating. Interment will be in Valley River Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm -2:00 pm prior to the services.
