Obituary for James (Jim) Allison

James (Jim) Allison, age 67 of Murphy, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

He was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County. He loved his family. He also enjoyed fishing, grouse hunting and raising a garden. He was a member of Owl Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Frank Allison, 3 brothers, Steve, Larry and Gary Allison and his stepdad, Earl Deitz.

Surviving is his wife Glenda, two daughters, Missy and husband Bo Collins, Pam and husband Clinton Raper; two granddaughters, Chantal and husband Skyler Matheson, and Tiffany Raper; two grandsons, Cory Raper and B.J. Collins; one great-granddaughter, Berkley Matheson; his mother, Helen Deitz, two sisters, Kelly and husband Bryan Burch, and Vickie and husband Ronald Webster; two sister-in-laws, Vivian Allison and Teresa Allison.

Pallbearers will be Robert Kephart, David Payne, Ray Cook, Gary Thompson, Danny Etherton and Preston Graves.

Visitation will be at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy from 1pm-2pm, Wednesday, January 19, 2022. The service will follow at 2pm. Dr. Chester Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the Owl Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Music will be provided by Jeff Cannon singing, "Love the People That God Gives You", "The Only Scars in Heaven Won't Belong to Me and You" and "Take My Hand Precious Lord".

The family respectively recommends that you wear a mask for visitation and funeral services.
