Barbara Ann Laney Kephart 78, of Murphy passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022. She was born in Cherokee County to the late Gid and Neily McTaggart Laney. Barbara enjoyed being a homemaker and being around her family, especially the grandkids. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Kephart; two brothers, Billy and Jimmy Laney; a sister, Marie Davis; and a granddaughter, Chasity Anderson.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Kephart, and Jason Gerbino and wife, Lydia; two daughters, Deborah Burchfield, and Audrey LeQuire; a brother, Wayne Amos; a sister, Louise McDonald and husband, Harry; and four grandchildren, Chelsea Burchfield, Dakota Burchfield, Christian LeQuire, and Allison LeQuire.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 02, 2022 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Eddis Dockery officiating. Music will be provided by Andrew Chastain. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blake and Brett McDonald, Bradley Wright, Jimmy Setser, Doug Baines, and Greg Amos.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Friday evening July 01, 2022 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home, Murphy.
