Michael James Moss, age 65 of Marble, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023.
Michael was born in Cleveland, Ohio to James Moss and the late Zelma Carroll Moss. He was employed as a truck driver and was a retired volunteer fireman for over 20 years for the Peachtree Fire Department. Michael loved dirt track racing. He also loved his children and grandchildren who were his life.
In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his step-mother, Clara Moss; his son Jamie Moss and wife, Shari; his daughters, Carrie Moss and Steven Land, and Kayla Garrett and husband, Joshua; his sister, Teena Whitener and husband, Jerry; his grandchildren, Richard Mitchell, Alisha Moss, Kelli Moore, Hayden Moss, Tryntden Moss, Maddison Gilbert, Alyssa Gilbert and Peyton Gilbert; his bonus grandchildren, Hannah Skripko and Sierra Moss; and his great grandchild, Cayson Moss.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Singers will be Tenna and Jerry Whitner and Alana Cook. Burial will be in Rowland Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Peachtree Fire Department will lead the funeral procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jamie Moss, Tryntden Moss, Hayden Moss, Richard Mitchell, Todd Moss and Donnie Moss. Honorary pallbearers will be Peyton Gilbert, Tommy Shook, Jerry Oliver, Randall Moss and Randall Davidson.
The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy prior to the funeral service.
