Helen Loretta Morrow, age 82 of Murphy, NC passed away Monday, September 29, 2025.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC. Helen was the daughter of the late Horace and Tina Loudermilk Thomas. She worked as a seamstress. Helen liked to read, do word search puzzles, and watch Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud. She always enjoyed making candy and amish bread around Christmas for everyone in the community. Helen loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Violet Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Morrow; five brothers, Hoyt, Frank, Ben, Clyde and Carl Thomas; sibling, Roy; and two infant sisters.
She is survived by her son, Travis Morrow (Tracie); one daughter, Angie Davis (Brian); five grandchildren, Caleb Davis (Kathryn), Zack Davis (Amanda), Stephen Mercer, Taryn Morrow and Aidan Morrow; three great grandchildren, Brantley Davis, Mayleigh Davis and baby Bellami on the way.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm, Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Chris Matheson will officiate. Music will be provided by Chloe Matheson. Burial will be in the Violet Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Caleb Davis, Zach Davis, Aidan Morrow, Brian Davis, Eric Davis and Luke Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 3 pm, Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
