Stephen Timothy Coffey, 64, of Andrews passed at his residence Thursday, June 8, 2023. He was born in Murphy on Dec 21, 1958, to Giles Coffey and Betty Truett Coffey. He attended Mars Hill College where he met his future wife, Lori Syens while completing his BA in Education, Specializing in Mathematics and History. He also earned a master's in School Administration from Western Carolina University and an EDS from Lee University. He worked for Cherokee County schools until he retired in 2008.
Tim is survived by his wife, son, and daughter-in-law, Dan and Stephanie Coffey; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Chad Kinzly; grandchildren Truett Coffey, LOC Coffey, Clyde Coffey, and Sloane Coffey.
The family will receive visitors at Townson- Rose Funeral Home in Andrews, NC on Sunday, June 11 from 2-4 PM. Service will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Valleytown Cultural Arts Center in memory of Tim Coffey, PO Box 399 Andrews, NC 28901.
