Billy Joe Brannon, age 83 of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024.
He was born in Cherokee County, North Carolina to the late Joe and Irene Smith Brannon. Billy enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and gospel music, as well as singing in the church choir in his younger days. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Loganville, Georgia.
Billy is survived by his wife, Carolyn Brannon; his son, Robert Paul Brannon (Lisa); his daughters, Angela Hynson (Kip) and Susan Lindsey (Travis); his brother, Johnny Brannon; his sisters, Kathleen Brannon and Ivarene Landress; his grandchildren, Jessica Brannon, Ashley Blue (Donnaven), Elizabeth Gardner (Jim), Nicole Hynson, Michael, Malachi and Kara Lindsey; and his great grandchildren, Eloise, Ashton, Bree, Abby, Ainslie and Jameson.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Brother Don Richards and Brother Tommy Foskey officiating. Burial will be in Unaka Baptist Church Cemetery with Kip Hynson officiating graveside. Pallbearers will be John Farmer, Michael Lindsey, Malachi Lindsey, Tyler Thompson, Mark Hickey and Ryan Farmer.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
