Tony Batten, age 66 of Murphy, NC, formerly of Akron, OH, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
Tony was born in Spencer, WV to the late Jerry Batten and Faustine Schreckengost Batten. He was a loving Daddy and Pawpaw who loved spending time with his family, especially playing Fortnite online with his grandchildren. He loved the great outdoors, caring for his chickens and ducks, and worked for many years as a paint and body man for JR Trucking.
Tony is survived by his son, Tony Batten, II (Natasha), of Hayesville; daughter, Holly Jackson (Jack) of Murphy; sisters, Barbara Manthe (Kent) of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Tia Batten, Nia Batten, Kitt Batten, Lilyannah Faustine Jackson, Layla Louise Jackson; niece, Rachel Gross (Tyson); his loyal dogs, Thumper and Cork; his “grand-dog,” Lulu Puggie; and his cat, Baby Girl.
