Betty Jane Belcher, age 88 of Murphy, NC passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.
She was born in Dade County, Florida to the late James and Jessie Smith. Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Unaka Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Belcher; one brother, Allen Smith; and four sisters, Thelma Franklin, Gladys Shaffer, Virginia Campbell and Mary Anderson.
She is survived by one son, James Belcher and wife Terri and one brother, James "J.B." Smith, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM, Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Pastor Rondall Brown will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date at Flagler Memorial Park in Miami, Florida.
